1. Who we are

S & S Building Specialties ("S & S," "we," "our," or "us") designs and installs custom glass shower doors from our shop at 4410 Friendship Dr, Suite A, Matthews, NC 28105. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at ssbuild.com, how we use it, who helps us handle it, and how to reach us with questions or requests.

2. Information you give us

When you use our contact form or our request-a-quote form, we ask for:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• The job-site address (street, city and ZIP code)
• How you prefer to be contacted (contact form) or which products you are interested in (quote form)
• Your message
• Any shower door options you chose in our door configurator, such as glass thickness, glass type, glass protection, hardware finish, width and height

We also receive whatever you choose to share when you call us, email us or visit our showroom.

3. Information collected automatically

When you send a form, we record the date and time, your IP address and your browser type. We use these to answer your request and to block spam and misuse of our forms.

Our site also uses cookies and similar browser storage:

• How you found us (fa_ft and fa_lt): two cookies set by our own site that remember how you first and most recently reached us, such as the website, search or ad you came from, the campaign tags in the link, and an ad click ID. They last 90 days. When you send a form, this information is attached to your request so we can see which advertising works. These cookies do not contain your name, email address or phone number.
• Form confirmation (ss_lead): a cookie that lasts 15 minutes after you send a form, so that your request is counted only once.
• Spam protection: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks whether a visitor is a person or an automated program.
• Analytics and advertising: cookies set by Google's tag, described in the next section.
• Animation setting: if you pause the animation at the bottom of our pages, your browser remembers that choice. It stays on your device.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our forms still work, but we may not be able to tell which ad or link brought you to us.

4. Analytics and advertising measurement

Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site, such as which pages are viewed, for how long, from what kind of device, and from roughly what area. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.

Google Ads: our Google tag tells Google Ads when a visitor sends a form or taps our phone number, so Google can tell whether one of our ads led to it. You can manage the ads Google shows you in My Ad Center.

Advertising measurement: When you send us a form, OpenAI's measurement tag may send details you entered so OpenAI can tell whether one of our ads led to your request. Your name, email address and phone number are scrambled (SHA-256 hashed) in your browser before anything is sent, so OpenAI does not receive them in readable form. Location details such as city, state or ZIP code may be sent without scrambling. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, this tag sends none of it. You can also call us at 704-821-6051 instead of sending a form.

Phone taps: when you tap our phone number on the site, our site notes the tap and reports it to Google Analytics, Google Ads and OpenAI as a phone click. It does not record your call.

5. How we use your information

• To answer your questions, prepare estimates and quotes, and schedule and complete your project
• To contact you in the way you asked us to
• To keep ordinary business records
• To understand how our website is used and which advertising brings us requests
• To protect our site and forms from spam, fraud and misuse
• To meet legal obligations

We do not sell the information you send us through this site.

6. Who helps us

We share information only with the service providers that help us run this website and answer your requests:

• Idea Forge Studios, which builds and hosts this website and keeps a copy of form requests for us so that none are lost
• SendGrid, which delivers your form request to our email inbox
• Cloudflare, which delivers this website to your browser, measures how quickly our pages load, and runs the spam check on our forms
• Google, for Google Analytics, Google Ads measurement and the web fonts on our pages (your browser loads the fonts from Google's servers)
• OpenAI, for measuring whether our ChatGPT ads lead to requests, as described above

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or when needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers, our business or others.

Our pages link to our Facebook and Instagram pages and to Google Maps. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.

7. How long we keep it

We keep form requests and related messages for as long as we need them to respond to you, prepare estimates, complete and support your project, and keep ordinary business records, and then we delete them. The cookies described above expire on their own after the periods listed.

8. Security

Our site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, our forms are protected against spam, and access to form requests is limited to the people who need it. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

9. Your choices and requests

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, call us at 704-821-6051 or email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under the law, and we will respond to requests as the law requires.

10. Children

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
